InnoHK Summit 2023 Successfully Held, Prof. Zexiang Li and Prof. Roberto Horowitz gave a keynote speech

Organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), InnoHK Summit 2023 was held successfully at Hong Kong Science Park on December 6. Under the theme of “From Collaborative Research to Real World Impact”, the Summit aims to showcase the latest innovation and technology (I&T) developments, Hong Kong's leading role in promoting research collaboration, talent cultivation and business operation in the world.

HKCRC director, Prof. Zexiang Li and UC Berkely Prof. Roberto·Horowitz gave a speech in this summit under the theme of “Challenges and Opportunities of Smart Construction”, showcasing to the audience the research achievements, innovative ideas, social contributions and overseas collaborations of HKCRC.

Prof. Zexiang Li pointed out that faced with challenges of labor shortage, increased costs, huge carbon emissions, using new technology to innovate traditional industry is an important development path. Integrating the resources of universities, government, enterprises and society, HKCRC is committed to transforming the traditional construction industry and contributing to the stable, efficient and sustainable development of society. HKCRC also gathers R&D talents from Hong Kong and abroad to form a synergy for propelling the upgrading of the construction industry around the world.

Prof. Roberto Horowitz pointed out that InnoHK provides a good platform for cross-regional cooperation. He also expected that in the future there will be more linkages and collaboration between Greater Bay Area and Silicon Valley so that they can jointly research and develop building technology products with world impact.

In the future, HKCRC will continue the journey in the field of smart construction and promote the transformation and upgrading of the construction industry.
